DSM Strategic Communications Selected to Play Key Role in Inaugural ProFood Tech Conference

Company Founder, Sean McBride, to Develop and Moderate Conference Sessions on Marketplace & Public Policy Trends

PFT Logo(Fairfax, VA) DSM Strategic Communications (DSM) today announced the company has been selected to develop and moderate a general session and a concurrent session at the ProFood Tech Conference Program, to be held in Chicago in early April.  ProFood Tech is a new trade show serving the entire food and beverage processing industry powered by PACK EXPO, Annuga and the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA).   IDFA is responsible for developing the ProFood Tech Conference Program.

“From product reformulation and packaging technology to supply chain management and production practices, the food and beverage industry is experiencing a paradigm shift driven largely by rapidly changing consumer preferences,” said Cary Frye, IDFA vice president for regulatory and scientific affairs. “ProFood Tech has gathered some of the most influential voices in the industry to define the current landscape and help attendees apply new insights for marketplace and professional success.”

The DSM-moderated general session,  The Food Labeling Revolution,  will take place at 8:45 am on Wednesday, April 5th.  Panelists include Deb Arcoleo, Director of Transparency at The Hershey Company, Thomas Parkinson, Founder, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Peapod, and Jacqueline Schulz, Nutrition Lead, at The Kraft Heinz Company.

“Food labeling is changing at a rapid pace, as food companies try to meet consumer expectations and comply with government mandates at the same time,” said Mr. McBride.  “Market forces and government strategies are colliding to provide consumers with the information they seek and the transparency they deserve.”

The Food Labeling Revolution will explore on-pack labeling and digital disclosure systems being deployed by food and beverage companies, as well as the synergies and challenges the federal government’s Nutrition Facts Panel and GMO labeling regulations present.

The DSM-moderated concurrent session, Beyond the Aisle: Strategies for Earning Shopper Loyalty in Today’s Virtual Marketplace, will be held at 10:15 am on Tuesday, April 4th.  Panelists include Mike Conrad, Founder of Zaycon Fresh, and Randy Burt, Partner, A.T. Kearney.

Former NFL Quarterback and Super Bowl Champion Peyton Manning will serve as keynote speaker at ProFood Tech.  Additional keynote sessions will be hosted by Nestle USA, Nielsen and McKinsey & Company.  In addition, executives from Google, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, General Mills and the U.S. Department of Agriculture are among dozens of

industry, academic and governmental leaders that will speak on important industry trends.  The conference will be held April 4-6, 2017, at the Lakeside Center of McCormick Place, Chicago.

“ProFood Tech has developed first-class content that addresses virtually every consumer packaged goods industry issue and trend.  This conference represents the future of thought leadership and innovation in our industry, and I am honored some of the most respected executives in the fast-moving consumer goods sector have agreed to join me to explore the hottest marketplace and public policy issues in the consumer goods sector,” concluded McBride.
